ST JOSEPH'S SCHOOL
FEILDING
Tumuaki / Principal's Message
Kia ora! My name is Anna Christiansen and I am extremely proud to be the Principal of Saint Joseph's School. We would like to welcome your whānau to our kura (school) and hope that your time with us will be a happy one.
Our kura's mission is to provide a caring environment in which tamariki encounter Christ through respectful relationships and Catholic Social Teachings. It is our vision for akonga (students) to develop a love of learning and a positive sense of self-worth. By the time our akonga leave our kura, we hope they will be confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners.
Being a Catholic kura, we ensure our staff are faith filled so they can express their love for Christ with your tamariki. We provide many opportunities for your tamariki to have an authentic encounter with Christ and making connections to what it means to be a Catholic in today's modern world.
All our staff believe in the importance of developing a child as a whole, especially in this current climate where caring for wellbeing is essential. We actively use Te Whare Tapa Wha to enhance taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing), taha hinengaro (mental and emotional wellbeing), taha tinana (physical wellbeing), taha whānau (family and social wellbeing), all while making connections to their whenua (land and roots). By nurturing and strengthening all five dimensions, our tamariki develop a healthy lifestyle and positive outlook on life.
Saint Joseph's School is a very special place, filled with special people. It is with pleasure that I serve as the tūmuaki (principal) and welcome you all to our place.
